What We Do

Project design and delivery

We have over 15 years’ experience of creating practical sustainable tourism projects and have run projects in 27 countries around the world. We take the time to identify the greatest needs, first assessing the real impacts of tourism and opportunities it brings. We work collaboratively, engaging stakeholders, forming local project teams for in-destination projects, facilitating partnerships and building capacity for long-lasting impact. Our project planning process aligns with PM4SD and Prince 2.

“We work together with the Travel Foundation, which has the expertise and the local contacts to conduct solid impact assessments and projects. With their local teams on the ground, organisations like the Travel Foundation can be a bridge between destinations and the travel industry.”

Thomas Ellerbeck, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, TUI Care Foundation

“UNWTO and the Travel Foundation share a joint ambition to carry out sustainable tourism projects that bring socio-economic benefits to disadvantaged groups. The Travel Foundation has been an important and dedicated partner in the ST-EP (Sustainable Tourism – Eliminating Poverty) Initiative, using its vast experience on sustainable tourism development to help successfully implement project activities and achieve long-lasting impacts on the ground.”

Mr. Taleb Rifai, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO)

“Currently we are rebranding Mombasa and we could not have done this as successfully without the work of the project. Mombasa’s beach product is not just sun and sand, it is about the environment which the visitor is in whilst they are here. The beach operators play a big part in ensuring this environment is positive.”

Hon Binti Omar, County Executive, Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Development
