Tourism is a complex industry with many stakeholders from both the public and private sector. We bring these different organisations together to create a shared vision of how tourism can be managed better for destinations and for the planet. This can include tour operators, destination management organisations, NGOs, community groups, local authorities, hotels, excursion providers, retailers, restaurants and more. We then support them to make this vision a reality. We do this both for stakeholders in destination and more widely with the global industry to drive change at scale.
In 2020 we joined with six other organisations to launch the Future of Tourism Coalition: a movement calling for destination needs to be placed at the centre of tourism’s future. Over 600 organisations have now signed up to the guiding principles.
Similarly in 2021, we joined with a group of leading organisations to launch the ‘Glasgow Declaration’ an urgent call for all stakeholders to commit to a decade of climate action in tourism.
