Thanks to the support of our partners, our life-changing and ground-breaking projects are improving the impacts of tourism in destinations around the world. Find out more about our work in our recently published annual review, which takes a look back at our work in 2015, as well as setting out our focus for the future.
For example, we have:
- Enabled the supply of local produce to hotels in Turkey – supporting 39 farmers and their families to generate more than £334,000 revenue as a result.
- Supported beach-sellers in Mombasa to gain new skills and opportunities to earn a living from tourism, without hassling tourists.
- Empowered Maya communities in Mexico to sell their honey and jam products to hotels, generating more than £100,000 revenue.
Importantly, these projects are changing practices within the tourism industry to spread the benefits tourism can bring more widely.
