Hotels in Cyprus have begun signing up to Keep Our Sand and Sea Plastic Free, pledging to ditch unnecessary plastic, to inspire others and make further changes to cut single-use plastic where possible.
The project, which brings tourists, residents, hotels, bars, restaurants and other tourism businesses together, has been created by the TUI Care Foundation, the Travel Foundation and the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Initiative (CSTI). So far it has support from the Mayors of each of the region’s municipalities: Ayia Napa, Paralimni, Deryneia, and Sotira, as well as the Association of Cyprus Travel Agents (ACTA),the Cyprus Hotel Association (PASYXE), and the University of Nicosia.
