The primary aim of our programme is to develop initiatives which increase income generating opportunities for small suppliers and producers by linking them with the tourism industry.

The Gambia is Good Initiative is a programme that trains farmers in new techniques and crop production, helping farmers grow produce to the standards laid out by hotels.
Working with communities to improve the sustainability of The Roots Excursion, increasing tourist numbers and improving visitor satisfaction.

Lamin
Like so many in Jufureh village, Lamin Trawally had no choice but to try and earn a living by hassling tourists to buy souvenirs. But now, thanks to a fair ticketing scheme and establishment of a community fund, Lamin is a trained tourist guide. It’s changed his life, and he is now able to support his family thanks to a regular income…which has increased by 80%!
