Dominican Republic
Our project in the Dominican Republic aims to help local artisans make a better living from tourism by supplying crafts to tourism businesses.
We are providing training for local artisans, so that they can better understand the types of products attractive to holidaymakers.
The training will help local artisans to develop collections that will be attractive to gift shop markets by cover:
- design
- production planning
- quality control
- how to turn single product ideas into collections
Resort and gift shop managers from major resorts are being invited to take part in the project by providing input on the types of products and price points of interest to them, as well as feedback on the designs.
Resort shops that purchase products will receive photographs of artisans and products which can be incorporated into point-of-sale displays and marketing materials.
We're helping local artisans in the Dominican Republic to earn a living from tourism.
