Mayan ladies - jam making community in MexicoThe Travel Foundation has been developing and delivering a range of sustainable tourism initiatives in the Yucatan region of Mexico since 2006.

Cancun and the Riviera Maya, and more recently, the Costa Maya, are rapidly growing destinations which are increasingly popular with British tourists. From just 1,500 guest rooms in 1995, the region now has more than 40,000 rooms and receives over six million tourists annually.

Araceli and community of Benito Juarez, now have fresh hope for the future. We’re helping the community conserve the endangered Melipona bee, so that honey products can be sold to holidaymakers in the future.
