Take a look at the tools and guidelines we already have available (see box below left for list)
Making tourism count for the local economy in the Caribbean: Guidelines for Good Practice.
These guidelines were produced as part of a project on stimulating pro-poor linkages in the Caribbean, implemented by the Pro-Poor Tourism Partnership & funded by the Travel Foundation.
The purpose of these good practice guidelines is to assist tourism companies to do business in ways that contribute more to the local economy. The intended audience is Caribbean tourism businesses of various sizes and types. Other guidelines already describe the 'what and why' of more responsible or sustainable tourism. These guidelines focus on practical tips on how to do it.
There are eight briefs providing practical tips for establishing different kinds of local linkages, drawing on experience across the Caribbean.
