How the money is used
The Travel Foundation focuses on taking action to create real change. We develop and test out sustainable solutions to help protect and enhance holiday destinations. We then communicate practical steps that organisations can take to encourage widespread action at popular destinations across the world. This ensures that the money raised achieves maximum impact.

This ensures that your visit directly benefits local families. For example, helping farmers to supply fresh, local produce or craftspeople good quality souvenirs to resort hotels, creating new excursions that take visitors to areas that did not previously benefit from tourism and working with the industry to create better job opportunities for local people, for example in guiding or hotel management.
Such activities spread the benefit that your visit brings - and also gives you access to good, local produce, more varied excursions and authentic souvenirs to take home. Altogether a richer holiday experience!
Helping to protect and enhance the natural environment. For example, protecting endangered species by helping hunters find alternative income through guiding, setting standards on effective waste management and protecting areas of outstanding natural beauty.
By giving just a little when you go on holiday, you really can help make a world of difference.
